Michael Brusca

Michael Brusca, a Cherry Hill, NJ nursing home lawyer and partner at Davis & Brusca Trial Lawyers, has dedicated his practice to getting justice for people who have suffered nursing home negligence or abuse, and gaining compensation for their families. He studied at Princeton Law School, then served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force where he tried cases all around the world. He also was the lead counsel for the plaintiff in the case Dwyer v. Harborview, which was a monumental case for nursing home abuse law in New Jersey. This case generated the largest nursing home verdict to date in New Jersey, and ultimately settled for a different amount on appeal, but was an enormous success.

Currently, Michael serves on the Executive Board of the national Nursing Home Litigation Group for the American Association for Justice. He also travels across the United States to share his success stories and help other nursing home abuse lawyers learn about some of the most tried and true prosecution tactics in court. Michael has personally seen the effects of nursing home abuse on a loved one, and wants to change the world for the better to hold these institutions accountable for their employees. He wants to see law enforcement and staff work together to make sure the vulnerable population of elderly people is taken care of and cared for.

Michael is one of only a few attorneys in New Jersey who has made it their mission to focus on nursing home abuse law. His writing has been published in the New Jersey Law Journal and in “Trial,” the attorney magazine published and disseminated nationally by the American Association for Justice. Michael will continue to move forward in his career to keep helping people get justice and try to improve the way nursing homes treat their patients.
